About the ALT-EDIC
The ALT-EDIC implements a Multi-Country Project (MCP) aiming at developing a common European infrastructure in Language Technologies (LTs). It seeks to improve European competitiveness in LT and uphold Europe’s linguistic and cultural diversity.
The ALT-EDIC was officially set up on February 7th, 2024, by Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/458. It gathers 17 Members States and 8 observing Member States or regions. It is coordinated and hosted by France, and its statutory seat is in Villers-Cotterêts.
The ALT-EDIC will serve its members and the LT community by increasing the availability of European language data, enhancing their interoperability, strengthening the offer of LT evaluation, fostering networking, and contributing to common policies for LT.
