Governance
The Alliance for Language Technologies (ALT-EDIC) is a European Digital Infrastructure Consortium, a type of legal structure created under the Digital Decade Policy Programme 2030. It is governed by an Assembly of Members composed of Member states of the European Economic Area (EEA) and reports to the European Commission.
Decision-making and advisory bodies
The Assembly of Members (AoM) is the governing body of ALT-EDIC. It elects among its members a chair and vice-chair. The AoM appoints the Director of the ALT-EDIC.
The Director is the legal representative of the ALT-EDIC, carries out its day-to-day activities, and is in charge of implementing the decisions of the AoM.
The Strategic Orientation Committee, comprising representatives of the Members, elected by the AoM and the ALT-EDIC’s Industrial Consortium, supports the AoM and the Director.
The Scientific and Technical Advisory Board and the Legal and Ethical Advisory Board, both composed of experts from relevant fields, are appointed by the AoM.
