LLMs4EU

Il- LLMs4EU (Mudelli Lingwistiċi Kbar għall-Unjoni Ewropea) il-proġett huwa kkoordinat mill-ALT-EDIC u se jappoġġa għadd kbir ta’ sħab tal-ekosistema Ewropea tal-LLM. Dan se jippermettilhom jiġbru data lingwistika fi kwalità u kwantità suffiċjenti biex jibnu mudelli bażi lingwistiċi kbar kif ukoll mudelli adattati għal lingwi, dominji jew industriji speċifiċi, u biex jipprovdu appoġġ u servizzi ddedikati li jippermettu lill-oħrajn jirfinaw il-mudelli disponibbli.

The LLMs4EU project aims to preserve European linguistic and cultural diversity in the digital age through cooperation between economic and academic actors. Indeed, some European languages are threatened to be left aside from generative AI development due to the lack of resources to train language models. Furthermore, the project intends to bring together some of Europe?s leading players in the field of generative AI to ensure that European companies and especially SMEs have access to the tools and resources to become competitive regarding language technologies and especially Large Language Models (LLMs). The project focuses on five application domains: energy, telecom, tourism, public services, and science.

L-għan huwa li l-LLMs u l-għodod kollha meħtieġa għall-isfruttament tagħhom fil-lingwi kollha tal-UE jsiru disponibbli b’mod miftuħ billi jiġu sfruttati l-programmi u l-kompetenzi Ewropej eżistenti. L-għodod li se jsiru aċċessibbli għall-kumpaniji Ewropej se jkopru l-passi kollha mit-taħriġ tal-LLMs sal-iżgurar tal-konformità tagħhom mal-leġiżlazzjoni Ewropea (l-Att dwar l-IA, il-GDPR, eċċ.).

The consortium created around ALT-EDIC includes organisations working in 20 countries, which ensures good geographical and linguistic coverage. The project will develop different relevant use cases to demonstrate the capacity of European actors to work together to create adapted tools for different economic sectors, and the coverage of all EU languages will be ensured through the creation and acquisition of the necessary datasets by the project.

Il-proġett ser jipprovdi, inkluż permezz ta' Appoġġ Finanzjarju lil Partijiet Terzi, appoġġ u servizzi ddedikati, b'mod partikolari għall-SMEs, biex jiġi ffaċilitat l-irfinar tal-mudelli disponibbli.

Il-proġett huwa ffinanzjat mill-Programm Ewropa Diġitali. Dan beda f’Marzu 2025, għal durata ta’ 3 snin.
